Fun On The Island Of Cyprus

What would a vacation destination be with out fun for the family rain or shine and this Mediterranean island is no different, there are many fun and exciting things for the entire family that will please everyone and make this a vacation spot that will be returned to many times over the years.

Attractions and activities

Some activities that can be found in many places that are also found on the island of Cyprus such as hiking, horse riding, skiing, mountain biking, and cycling. If it is swimming and water fun there are places other than the sea to swim with the water parks that are filled with fun for the family.

One of these family friendly and fun places is the Aphrodite Water Park that numbers its visitors as more than 100,000 per year with attractions such as the kiddies pools for the very young visitors to the park, as well as a slow slide and also a fast slide. soak and there is what is aptly named the splash that is one of the park favorites. Some of their more exciting water fun is the Pirate Ship Slide, which thrills and delights the entire family seeking water fun. The Wet Bubble or the Mini Volcano and Water Mushrooms are some of the other water fun spots in the Aphrodite Water Park.

Some of the many dry activities  for the cool and rainy days on the island that are fun and educational like the Fatsa Wax Museum in the village of Lefkara or the rural museum called the House of Gabriel and Eleni Papachrisoforou in the village of Kato Drys. There are other museums like the Palaeontology Museum Tornaritis in the village of Pierides as well as the Pierides Foundation Archeological Museum. There are two museums in the district of Larnaka and are the Archaeological Museum and the Medieval Museum at Larnaka Fort.

Tours to many of the sites are also available on daily visits to some of the most exciting sites that remain on the island from the past, such as ones that are offered at local hotels that are to the Pir Pasa Mosque which holds a British Crest, the town of Krikotta Yesilirmak Rock which is the oldest settlement on the island in the town of Panaroma. There are other tours and one of them is of the Saint Hilarion Castle. If castles are the thing that excites a person there is tours of the Bellapais Abbey and the Buffavento Castle as well as the Kyrenia Castle. One other tour that is sure to please is of the Shipwreck Museum and all are located in the Girne and Ryrenia areas.
